I really am not sure why. Guess I just felt like blogging again. It's beginning to get dark at an alarming rate nowadays. Really just the past day since day-light savings time ended. Lately I have been keeping myself busy by reading Frankenstein. Of course, that's generally what happens when I get bored. Its not exactly an easy read, though. Since starting the story I have learned several new words! Here they are:
1) Benevolent--doing something for the benefit of others
2)Abode-- a dwelling
3)Commence--to begin or start
4)Agrippa
Okay, so number 4 is more of a name than a word. But I learned who he was :D
So anyway, Cornelius Agrippa was this guy who believed very strongly in magic. He lived in the 1400s and 1500s. He was some German "magician" who was also very interested in Science. I read that he devoted a lot of his time to occult sciences actually. There are even myths and Urban legends about Agrippa. One of the legends says that on his death bed, he summoned a black dog as his 'familiar'.
That's why Cornelius Agrippa was mentioned in Harry Potter! :) Rememeber? The chocolate frog cards. *wink*
